And God desires that His children take out time to fellowship with Him and know His will for their life. God wants to lead you all through the days of your life, and how you can receive His leading by spending time with Him.

Time spent with God is a sacred one: a time you set apart to see, hear and do the things of God. So majorly, the things expected of you to do in these times are spiritual activities. So let’s see how you can spend time with God.
1. Prioritize your relationship with God
It’s no news that each of your days might be packed up with too many activities that you don’t even have time for spiritual engagement. However, as a believer, you must always stay agreeing with God. And receive His counsel for each day. Romans 8: 14 says, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. God has given you His Spirit to direct you in life, and you wouldn’t want to miss out on His instructions. Hence, you must learn to prioritize God above all. (Matthew 6: 33)
2. By studying and praying.
There is no greater way to spend time with God than to study God’s word and pray. This will heighten your spiritual sensitivity and discernment. That you understand and see God in every situation. You don’t just chicken out or give up easily when you know that God is with and for you.

In Jeremiah 29: 11, God says His thoughts towards you are good and not evil, to give you hope and a future. He has something God planned out for you, and the best way you can come to the knowledge of it is by fellowshipping with him.
2. Receiving God’s guidance
Proverbs 3:6 says, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. God wants to direct you and lead you on the path which you are to follow. And spending time with him is a way of acknowledging him.
3. Spiritual growth and stability.
Spiritual growth is the next stage to reach after receiving the life of Christ. And it is attained by spending time with God both through his word, prayer and fellowshipping with other saints. For It is God’s desire that you grow. (1 Peter 2: 2)
Serving God with your time: Is it possible?
Yes, it is possible. We understand that chronologically, there are 24 hours in a day. And each of the activities you’ll engage yourself in will as well go by time. Thus, going out for evangelism, weekly or Sunday services is a way of serving God with your time.
How much time does God want us to spend with Him?
There are no specifications as regards the hours you are expected to spend with God. However, the Bible pointed out the best way to build a sustainable relationship and fellowship with God. And that is through consistency. The Bible instructed an act of consistency as regards the things of God and spending time with him.
They’re something you must do every time. Let’s check 1 Thessalonians 5: 17 which says, pray without ceasing. This is telling you not to stop praying. You must cultivate the habit of doing it nonstop.
