Have you ever wondered why God chose to use some and not others? Do you want to know how to be chosen by God? Then keep on reading this article to know more. And we’ll also be answering some related questions using Scriptural backing as a reference for proper understanding.
Is everyone chosen by God?
The Bible says, ye shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free (John 8:32). There is a different feeling and comfort, clarity brings to your soul.
To understand the question, is everyone selected by God? It depends on the context in which you are using this. When it comes to the context of salvation, everyone is chosen by God to be saved. The purpose of Jesus’ coming into the world is to save sinners from their sins (Matthew 1: 21).
And everyone on earth is a sinner because of Adam’s transgressions (Romans 5: 12).
Jesus did not pick those who want to die for, the Bible says in 1 Timothy 1:15, Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.
He gave himself as a ransom for all (1 Timothy 2: 6). So, when it comes to salvation, no one is precluded. However, when we are to discuss in the context of ministerial office: pastors, evangelists, prophets, teachers, and apostles.
Not everyone is called to be one. God called some in the church to lead other believers to find their call as well in God, and grow spiritually. (Ephesians 4: 11-14).
Why does God choose some and not others?
Just as I’ve mentioned earlier, God, when it comes to ministry, selects some over another to carry his works out on earth. And the reason is simple, it is not that God loves one person over another, nor does He consider physical abilities and qualities before he decides.
The Bible says God is not a respecter of men (Acts 10: 34).
And He also looks at the heart of men (1 Samuel 16: 7). David was selected for the work of God to be king because he had the heart to be faithful in his service to God.
God doesn’t look out for men with strength and admirable abilities to choose. Rather, he picks men who are available for use and will be faithful to the call. You must prove faithful for God to use you for his work. (Ephesians 5: 1-2)
Does God choose who will be saved?
No, God doesn’t choose those to be saved. John 3: 16 says, For God so loved THE WORLD that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The world there includes every human being on earth, irrespective of religion, nationality, or orientation.
Christ came and died for everyone for them to be saved.
What does the Bible say about who God chooses?
Those whom God selects were known; to have a heart burning for God, to be faithful and ready to be used by God. Check these Scripture references to learn more about them.
- Deuteronomy 7: 6
- Genesis 12: 1-3
- 2 Samuel 7:23-24
- Exodus 19:5-6
Why does God choose to heal some and not others?
Believing that God desires to heal some set of individuals and not other people is a wrong doctrine that is inconsistent with the nature of God.
Some will even say, “it was because of this person’s sin that God didn’t want to heal him” and “Oh! Because that person is holy and sinless, he is more deserving to be healed than the previous person”.
You must understand that if God doesn’t decide those he wants to save, he won’t also make a choice when it comes to healing the sick.
He wants everyone to live in peace and health. God didn’t create sickness, and neither does he want you to experience sickness to prove that he is God. He wants you healed.
Acts 10: 38 says, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Jesus was anointed with the power to HEAL ALL THAT WERE SICK, NOT FEW OR SOME, ALL!
How do I know God chose me?
1 Peter 2: 9 calls everyone believer a chosen people. That’s to say, God has appointed you. However, in case you are unsure, here are several ways to know that God has elected you;
1. You become sure of God’s love for you
The Bible says we love God because He first loved us (1 John 4: 19). Knowing that God loves you as a Father will boost your confidence as you go about your daily routine. It’ll also encourage you to love God better and serve others better.
2. You will never walk alone.
Anyone who has believed in Jesus Christ has the Holy Spirit dwelling inside of him (1 Corinthians 3:16; 6:19). And everywhere you go, any place you’re at, the Spirit of God is always there with you. He is your comforter who has been sent to be with you forever (John 14: 16).

God choose you for a purpose: What does this mean?
There is a purpose in the heart of every creative creator before designing anything. They have a purpose they want their creation to fulfil. For example, a chair – it is to provide relaxation. God created and picked you for a specific purpose. He has a bigger plan in mind for the world.
And He has selected you to walk on the path of achieving those great plans on His behalf. God desire to deliver the children of Israel from the bondage of the Egyptians (Exodus 1, 2 & 3), and He decided to use Moses for that course.
Conclusion
Although Moses wasn’t feeling qualified and up to the task, God supported and qualified him. God wants to use you, irrespective of your incompetence, He has picked you for a purpose, just make yourself available for God to use you.
